It's time for the annual Poker Run for Boats! The first summer Poker Run will start at Highland Marina Resort and end at Southern Harbor Resort & Marina.
What is a Poker Run?
A Poker Run is a family event in which you drive your boat to different checkpoints on the lake. At registration, you will be given a map with the location of the checkpoints. At each checkpoint, you will be given a number to mark on the map to show that you were at that checkpoint. We give you everything you need to find each checkpoint. You do NOT need to know your way around the lake.
It normally takes about 2 hours to complete the course. Each person (age 18 and over) can have a separate hand. We do limit it to one hand per person.
The West Point Lake Coalition is a volunteer organization. We host events like this every year to promote the recreational aspects of West Point Lake. All proceeds go toward promoting and protecting the lake.
Even with last year's low lake levels, over 300 people entered this event. This year, with the lake near full pool, we expect even a larger crowd.
How does a Poker Run work?
You fill out an entry form and pay the entry fee at Highland Marina Resort (or you can register online). (REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 9:00 AM and ends at 12:00 PM - on the store deck at Highland Marina Resort)
We give you precise instructions (and a map) about where to go and what to do from there - TRUST US!
You drive your boat to 4 check points on the lake. At each checkpoint, you will receive a number to mark on your map. You will receive your cards thru a random drawing at Southern Harbor Marina & Resort.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CANNOT SIGN IN AT SOUTHERN HARBOR UNTIL 1:30 PM. Prizes will be awarded at 3:00 PM. You MUST be present to win.

The rain date is June 21, 2008 and will be so noted on the website or call our office at (706) 884-5916.
NOTE: We will also have our 50/50 pot. This is separate from your poker hand. You can buy as many tickets as you want. We put them in a jar and draw one. The winner takes half the pot. It is usually around $300.00

Early registration (until June 7, 2008) is $10.00 per hand (5 cards) and $5.00 for each additional card (up to 3). You MUST be 18 years of age or older to participate. After June 7, 2008, the cost per hand is $15.00. Additional cards are still $5.00 each (up to 3). NOTE: Only one hand allowed per person
Online registration cutoff is June 11, 2008.
