Contribute to the West Point Lake Coalition

West Point Lake, the jewel of west Georgia and east Alabama, covers 25,900 acres with 525 miles of shoreline and is the second largest lake in Georgia.

Impounded in the early 1970's and managed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers, West Point Lake was authorized for multiple purposes including:

  • Fish & Wildlife
  • Recreation
  • Hydroelectric Power
  • Flood Control
  • Navigation

For maximum enjoyment and safety, the full lake pool is 635 feet msl. At levels of 633 feet msl and below, the lake is negatively affected in many ways including:

  • Diminished recreation value
  • Continued shoreline erosion and sedimentation
  • Significant financial impacts on marinas, lake related businesses, and home owners
  • Boat ramps and floating docks become grounded
  • Dangerous safety conditions
  • Environmental harm

Only through your donations can the concerned citizens of west Georgia and east Alabama ensure the sustainability of West Point Lake. Your contributions to West Point Lake Coalition will support the impact studies, advertising, events, and other expenses used to fund future strategies for lake sustainability.
