The West Point Lake Coalition Welcomes You

West Point Lake Coalition is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization chartered to maintain and promote West Point Lake as a clean lake with stable water levels. A group of local citizens started the Coalition in 2000 and now have a membership in excess of 400.  We have established a board of directors and created a database that includes property owners, dock permit holders, and anyone else we think may have an interest in lake conditions.

How can you help?

We need members. The influence we carry with the governing bodies making decisions affecting our lake is directly related to how many members we have. Higher membership means more control over management of our lake. We also need you direct involvement to help stuff envelopes, contact officials, etc. if you are willing. If you would like to join our organization, please see our membership details. All donations and gifts are tax deductible and you can be assured that your support along with the hundreds of others around our community will make life on the lake a much more enjoyable experience.

We also need your financial support. An organization like this requires money to operate. Everyone in the coalition is a volunteer. No one is paid for their services. Every dollar you donate goes directly to improving our lake. Remember, all of your donations are tax deductible.

What's in it for you?

A healthy lake will attract new residents to the area, expand the labor market, and prevent our existing labor force from leaving. This will in turn result in more tourists, more businesses, higher property values, and less likelihood of tax increases in the future.

We are not out to benefit any one group. We actively promote programs that benefit fishermen, boaters, campers, and environmentalists alike. Our vision is to create a sustainable plan for West Point Lake that will keep everyone's interests in balance.

Take a look at the lake news to get a full report on all of the surrounding lakes of the Mobile District River System. This report is given by Memphis Vaughan, Jr., Chief, Water Management Section, Corps of Engineers, Mobile District.

To view the CURRENT LAKE LEVEL with the lake level history, take a look at this chart from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers website.

There are some very fun and interesting activities taking place on the lake that you won't want to miss. We will be sponsoring our fourth annual bike ride on May 19. Please take a look at our upcoming events for more information and a schedule.
